The waterproof pouch is a creation between HK Jockey Club Upcycling Centre of St. James' Settlement (the "Upcycling Centre") and Lovely Cotton. Skilled and experienced craftspeople of the Upcycling Centre first created the prototypes based on the design concept from Lovely Cotton. The prototypes are finally converted into products by the disabled members of the Upcycling Centre.

Washable menstrual pads can be reused so reducing solid waste and the environmental impact. Similarly, waterproof pouch is made of unwanted fabrics collected by the Upcycling Centre and such fabrics are leftover/out-of-season but in fact brand new in good condition. Upcycling these unwanted but new fabrics can avoid the need to create virgin fabrics and radically minimizes impact on climate change, water pollution and land use, achieving circular economy. At the same time, we can support people with rehabilitation needs to integrate into the local community by offering job opportunities. Waterproof couch is another illustration of Lovely Cotton’s continuous effort on promoting zero waste and circular lifestyle.
